Erica Brannon Gunn

Erica Brannon Gunn was raised in Spencer, West Virginia. She graduated from Roane County High School in 2002, then attended undergraduate at Syracuse University from 2002 through 2004, then obtained two Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and International Studies from West Virginia University in 2006.

Erica graduated from the College of William & Mary School of Law in 2009. While in law school Erica was a member of the Child Advocacy Legal Society. She served as a Vice-President and President of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. She volunteered with Student Legal Services and worked with the Office of Legal Counsel at William & Mary. Also while in law school she worked as a Summer Clerk for the West Virginia Supreme Court and in the Commonwealth Attorney’s office in Norfolk, Virginia. Erica also worked with John Williams’ law office in Williamsburg, Virginia during law school.

After graduating from law school Erica worked as a Law Clerk in the Fifth Judicial Circuit for the Honorable Thomas C. Evans, III from 2009 to 2011.

In 2011, Erica started her own practice and has been working in private practice ever since. Erica’s practice areas focus on Family Law and she handles divorces, custody, and adoptions, along with other family laws matters. Erica also frequently serves as a guardian ad litem for children in both abuse and neglect and family court cases.

Erica previously served on the board of directors for Legal Aid of West Virginia. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Roane County Chamber of Commerce. She also has served as the Roane County Mental Hygiene Commissioner from 2011 through current.

Erica is a member of the American Bar Association and the West Virginia State Bar.

Erica has been recognized as a nationally ranked Top 10 Under 40 attorney practicing in Family Law by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys.
